The TOLTEC Self Mastery workshop explained

The Toltec Self-Mastery workshop has all the elements, experiences and learning aimed at individuals committed to bettering themselves in various aspects of their lives.

We know that every human being has potential far beyond what they’ve ever thought, but we need the tools to put this knowledge inside you to use. This workshop is a profound journey of discovery and allows participants to explore who they are and how they can manifest a meaningful life. It is a tool for making all relationships work, and a technique for breaking through to new levels of intimacy, effectiveness and self-expression. Here, you express yourself as an individual and discover your passion in life.

Each person is truly unique!  From our past experiences, culture, education and upbringing, we learn and develop patterns of behavior, practices and approaches that make up our personality.  Hence, we develop an outlook into ways of being and acting, “our style” – who we consider ourselves to be – and ultimately what we consider reality to be. We forget it is us who construct our perceptions and realities. The recognition of this allows for a refreshing freedom. People, situations, and our approach to life can alter dramatically – if we choose.

The workshop is a 6-day retreat-style workshop specifically designed to challenge the traditional ways of thinking, behavior and reactions that no longer serve us. It facilitates fundamental shifts of attitude and perception, aiming to leave the individual creatively capable, fully satisfied and highly inspired to embrace a “bigger picture” of him or herself. The results are personal growth and transformation.

  • This transformation results in committed human beings, who are solution oriented, not problem fixated.

  • People become passionate about themselves, what they do or want to do.

  • Responsibility and accountability become personal priorities.

  • Individuals become globally aware, thus positively contributing and supporting their peers, families and colleagues.

  • Effective communications and mindful listening for value in what others say.

  • Know himself or herself as someone who makes a profound difference.

  • Experience appreciation for their parents, siblings, partners as well as other human beings.

  • Powerfully and courageously face the risks and challenges of life.

  • Build Self Esteem and Self Worth.

  • Learning new “Language” and communication skills.

  • Learning new Life Tools to integrate on a personal level.

  • Exposure to the Laws of Nature and it lessons.

You are your own best teacher.

The Magic of the workshop is in its designed.  Each individual is able to apply it to whatever is meaningful to him or her.  The results they achieve and leave with are tailored to their own unique commitments and interests.

Situations that may have been challenging or difficult become fluid and open to change.  We find ourselves no longer limited by a finite set of options, and able to achieve what we want with new ease and enjoyment.  There is a freedom and ability to take action that was unavailable before - even familiar actions produce a whole new level of effectiveness.  We are left, possibly for the first time, with a choice about who we are and who we can be.

Why coaching is good for a healthy life and business.

In the turbulent global economic environment in which organizations’ operate, change has become a permanent feature of the business landscape. There is relentless pressure to ensure that companies and individuals remain competitive. It has become imperative to seek learning that will give their people an energized and competitive edge.

The Impoverishment and the lack of "soul nourishment" experienced in our environments can directly impact on traditional organizational concerns of performance, productivity, creativity, innovation and competitive advantage.  In many ways, being connected with our soul is a core business process. Coaching the human being makes good business sense because it is about supporting people to be at their best in living, learning and working.

If your soul is energized, you will have zest, allowing you to be more creative and cope better with mental and physical challenges.  It makes for a happier and healthier environment that is magnetic in drawing outsiders to want to be in your space.

The notion of “the soul" might seem at odds with the often, harsh reality of organizational life and completely unrelated to organizational learning.  It can seem like an esoteric concept, a bit "touchy feely", associated with religion, and philosophical discussions. However, it can have a major bearing on enduring organizational concerns of performance, creativity, and productivity.

Tragically in general life, many people have lost the connection with their own soul, and the souls of others. We have lost connection with what matters deeply to us, and without realising, it compromises the quality of our existence.  This reflects in our way of behaving and being, which is the basis of the quality of our existence.

When people are at their best, organizations benefit from their enhanced performance, productivity and creativity.

During the workshop you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of learning processes that allow you to look constructively and anew at important areas of your life. These processes will include:

Interactive Discussions

Over the course of the training, the coach will speak to the group about a variety of different subjects related to contemporary adult life, and he or she will suggest a point of view, or way of thinking, about these subjects. The purpose of these discussions is not for you to agree with what is said, or adopt the coach’s point of view, but rather to give you an opportunity to clarify your own attitudes and ways of thinking. In this way, you may become more aware of your values, your direction in life, and what you are committed to.

You will have an opportunity to see more clearly how you participate in-group situations, with your colleagues at work, or with your friends or family.

Dyads

During the training, you will be asked to participate in several one-on-one interactions with other participants, which we call dyads. In a dyad, you may be asked to answer a series of questions, complete statements, describe something that happened to you, or assume a particular body posture. Dyads provide opportunities to look honestly at specific personal issues, and to support your partner in doing so.  For some participants, this may be an emotional experience.

Games

As part of the training, you will have an opportunity to participate as a team member with other participants in a number of different games. These games will allow you to see more clearly the role you tend to play in-group situations, a revealing to you your attitudes regarding competition, cooperation, leadership, personal integrity, and other aspects of interpersonal relationships.

Closed-Eye Processes

During closed-eye processes, you will be guided in visualizing situations from the past, and in creating a positive vision for your future. To facilitate relaxation and promote creativity, background music may be played and the lights may be lowered during these processes

Sharing

At many points throughout the training, you will have an opportunity to share about yourself and what you are learning.

Mingles

At times, you will have an opportunity to interact directly with the coach. The coach’s perspective is that you are capable of dealing effectively with the circumstances in your life, and that a stance of personal responsibility is more effective than a stance of powerlessness in the face of life’s demands. In addition, the coach assumes that you are striving for joy, fulfillment, and a sense of accomplishment in all areas of your life. Interactions with the coach will allow you to examine your attitudes, assumptions, and behaviors, and you may feel challenged or uncomfortable in dealing with the unfamiliar.

Physical activities

You will participate in physical activities that will include morning exercises and specific experiential learning activities.
